    Mississippi State Fair Trial
    (Jackson, MS)
    This trial is sanctioned by the United States Border Collie Hander's Association (USBCHA) and put on by the Mississippi Stockdog Association. This is a 2 day trial held every year during the state fair in the Kirk Fordice Equine Arena... sheep & cattle the 1st day ~ sheep the 2nd day.

    Bob Montgomery Sheep Dog Trial
    (Greenwood, MS)
    This trial is a Mid South Stock Dog Association sanctioned trial, and is held annually by the Mississippi Stock Dog Association on the second weekend in March. Visit the Mississippi Stock Dog Association website.

    Mid-South Volunteer State Stock Dog Trial

    MSSDA Volunteer Stock Dog Assoc holds an annual trial each spring.
    April 2016 -2020, (Paul Tucker, Judge)

  • May - Bluegrass Classic Stockdog Trial (Lexington, KY)
    Held annually in Kentucky, this competition is one of the largest, longest-running, and most prestigious trials in the country. The competition draws top handlers from across the USA and Canada, as well as hundreds of spectators. The Bluegrass Classic dates back to about 1960.


Working Border Collies typically dominate at trials - stockdog trials demonstrate the traits that have been carefully selected for in Border Collies for centuries - skills that make the Border Collie a standout among the herding breeds - intelligence, style, heart.
