Please do not forget Juanita’s trial on November 1st and 2nd, see the website for information.

This is a very important meeting!  Please come.

Business conducted last meeting was regarding ordering the belt buckles from Hewlett and Dunn.  Nancy is working out getting them and I am working on the score totaling.  The problem that I am having is incomplete information from the Mid-South Fair Trail.

Please check the above as they are relevant to computing the winners of the belt buckles.

In the November meeting we will be discussing the following:  Very Important!

1.       Deciding the person who will win the Jim Guerin’s Most Improved Handler Award in this meeting so we can have the plaque personalized by the December Meeting.

2.       Voting on changing the monthly meeting to the second weekend of the month as was discussed in the October meeting.

3.       Be thinking about next years officers and nominations for the offices of President, VP, Secretary and 3 Board of Directors.  We will be polling for volunteers for these offices.  These positions do not take a large commitment of time but they are vitally important to the continuation and health of this club.

4.        If you were not aware, the founder and director of Goat Days has passed away in July.  Their website is currently down, but we need to be aware that they may not continue to hold Goat Days in the future.  As this is one of our locations for a trial, we need to discuss changing the location of this trial or other options.  I will need to file with the USBCHA the dates and names of our trials in December for the next year.

5.       The Mid-South fair will be moved to Tunica in the future and discontinued here.  Leslie Scruggs will not be hosting this trial in Tunica.  As this is one of the trails that count toward our belt buckles we will need to make some decisions regarding this trial.  Taking it over for her or substituting another trial for the belt buckles.

6.       Our website provider has sent an email regarding changing their services, a copy of this email will be forwarded to all members to consider and vote upon.

7.       Mark suggested getting the local Border Collie Rescue involved in our trials.  I will be inviting them to our meetings.

The December Meeting will be held December 6th from 10am until noon where we will be having BBQ catered.  It will be held at Mark Robertson’s place.

Directions:

I-40 East from Memphis to Jackson, TN

Take Exit 82A south which is Highland

Go south on Highland for approximately 10-12 miles through old downtown Jackson past the fairgrounds until you come to the intersection with Harts Bridge Road.

At that intersection turn left between Long John Silver  restaurant  and Southside High School.

Go east on Harts Bridge for 7 miles and you will cross 1 set of railroad tracks.  Approximately 1 mile past the railroad tracks you will come to a white split rail fence on the right with a mailbox with our address 2446 on it.  This is the entrance to our property.  Turn right and follow the gravel drive for about ½ mile to the training field.  We will have it marked.

From the Bolivar area you will come into Jackson on Hwy 18 to Hwy 45.  Turn left onto Hwy 45 which will be north.  Go approximately 3 miles to Harts Bridge Road and turn right between Southside High School and Long John Silver restaurant.  Pick up the rest of the directions from there.

If I forgot anything, let me know.  We really need your participation in these very important issues.
